The Death of [an] America[n]

Image
On September 30th, 2011, an American, accused of an awful crime, was executed without trial. To put this in perspective, Nazi war criminals received a trial .   American terrorist Timothy McVeigh , who killed 168 people, received a trial.   Jared Loughner, who publicly shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and shot several other people to death, is awaiting trial . Murderers, even murderers who murder in public, get a trial. Why?  Why don't we just execute murderers on the spot? Because executing someone without evidence, merely on the word of authority, or by accusation, is dangerous.  And very stupid. Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen, was put on a kill list a year ago.  His father filed a lawsuit with the American Civil Liberties Union to get him off the list.  The suit was dismissed on a technicality . Awlaki had been posting inflammatory and anti-American videos on youtube.  The videos urged violence against the United States.  But this s...

9/11—An Excuse to Kill More Injuns

Image
Andrew Jackson became famous for killing Indians and stealing their land .  His policies have not become outdated, but have rather expanded. Americans would often treat an individual criminal act committed by someone of an "inferior race" as an act of war.   The crimes of one Indian made all Indians guilty, even Indians who belonged to white-friendly tribes .  Punishing an entire race for the crimes of one individual is known as collective punishment . As President, Jackson ordered the  Five Civilized Tribes to "voluntarily" remove themselves from the United States .  The Five Civilized Tribes had become civilized by, among other things, owning slaves .  If high school American history has taught me anything, it's that it's okay to murder slave-owners. This bib keeps my shirt clean from the blood and tears of Indians. Like the heroic Lincoln, who murdered  600,000 of them in order to free the slaves.  After the Civil War, Union veterans who...

Join the Pumpkin Revolt

Image
Bureaucrats in Orem, Utah, are trying to destroy 71-year-old Darrell "Bud" Durrant's livelihood.  Durrant lives off of a $396 retirement.  The bulk of his income comes from pumpkins that he grows on his farm in Lake Shore, and sells from his yard at  112 W. 1600 N. in Orem ,  a distance of  17 miles . He's been selling pumpkins from his yard for 20 years.  But this year, authorities threatened to shut him down. Bud Durrant and his business partner, David Cook. Durrant appealed to the city, and so they will " allow him to sell through this year." City Attorney Paul Johnson said, " It's too bad the city hasn't enforced the law before now ." The city hopes to have a decision by the end of 2011, on whether or not he can sell next year. It seems to me, that shutting down small farmers during a recession is just plain stupid.  It's a cold, impersonal cruelty, that someone would destroy an old farmer's livelihood simply to enforce a nonsen...

Man jailed for being too poor to fish

Image
Kyle Dewitt lost his job.  He's 19, engaged, has a baby boy.  He went fishing so his family could eat. Local law enforcement fined him $215 for illegal fishing. That's like 100 bucks per ounce! He couldn't afford to pay it, so they threw him in jail for three days. "Land of the freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. . ." Reminds me of the medieval law against hunting the king's deer.

Michael Moore wants to kill the messenger

Image
1st Amendment be damned .   Michael Moore wants Obama to imprison those pesky critics at S&P who dared suggest that the U.S. might not have the best credit score . "Kill the rich, and Utopia will follow!" —Michael Moore (edited by Double Birds) Truth be damned .  Politicians should be able to spend all they want, whether they have the means or not.  If they lack money, their buddies at the Federal Reserve can just print it.  How can they not pay their debts with that kind of power? Unfortunately, you can't give something you don't have.  Money is not wealth, nor is it magic unicorn piss that we can sprinkle on all our problems to make them go away.  Printing money and throwing it at our debts will merely make our creditors angrier, as the inflated money we give them becomes worthless in their hands. Moore seems to think the economy has a joystick that the rich can jerk around to make it do what they want.  Unfortunately, it's a bit more compli...

Why roads should be free — And a chance to win $75

Image
For all of you who have rolled your eyes when I've said that roads should be privatized, consider this: Have you ever been pulled over for speeding?  When the guy with a gun fined you a hundred bucks for going too fast, did it ever seem odd?  What if Costco started tazing , fining, and imprisoning people who drove their shopping carts too fast down the aisles?  Wouldn't you think it odd if a Costco teller pulled a gun on you, and told you to get your ni**er a**  down on the floor, if you, say, were  paralyzed , or black ? 72-year-old woman tased. Respect the elderly, or respect my authoritah ? Why don't we think it odd when it happens on our roads?  Americans are apt to forget that highways were built to prevent popular uprisings .  That speed limits were put in place to force gas rationing .  And public schools never teach that roads are monopolies. Recently, an  Eastern European mayor has used a tank to run over the vehicles of his own ...

Man Killed For Being Drunk

Image
The Morality Police shot and killed a man for being drunk .  Keep that in mind next time you pop open a cold one. I admit, the guy looks like a dumbass .  But last time I checked, being a dumbass was not a crime. His drivers license ID is also a mugshot.  It saved him time. The contents of our bodies should not be criminal.  Americans should be free to eat, drink, and smoke whatever they like. Being drunk while driving should not be illegal. Driving hazardously, or endangering others with your driving should be illegal.  If someone is swerving recklessly through lanes of traffic—or speeding faster than the flow of traffic, or driving slower than the flow of traffic, or stopping erratically—they should be hauled off the road, and have their driving privileges revoked temporarily. (Edited by Double Birds) Which brings us to the morality police.  There is a difference between criminality and immorality.  The government does not have autho...

Thugs get paid to beat the hell out of a music student

Image
A group of thugs got paid to turn an 18-year-old music student from this: into this: They then got paid vacation while things got sorted out. Who would pay thugs to do such an awful thing?   You .  Sucker. After they cuffed him, they choked him to keep him from praying. They had him charged with "loitering," "resisting arrest" and "aggravated assault." Next time you're loitering and a cop wants to kick your a**, don't resist; it's the law.

60 Minutes of dirty tricks

Image
60 Minutes has produced another hit job on another American hero.  A few weeks ago they demolished the reputation of  Three Cups of Tea author Greg Mortenson .  Now they're going after Lance Armstrong. Armstrong accuses the show of "bad faith" and the producer of the show as " not being a straight shooter ." Armstrong displays the virility of his remaining testicle. After doing two minutes of research, I've discovered the root of the problem.  It appears the executive producer of 60 Minutes is named Jeff Fager. Oh.  Did you need further explanation?  The guy's name is Jeff Fager. Fager. Fager. Still need more? After a lifetime of teasing he's now getting his revenge on the cool kids.  Case closed. Jokes aside, 60 Minutes might not be giving us a straight story.  It's possible that this smear campaign against non-fagers is a publicity stunt to stay relevant.  These recent reports are reaching the point of being as "fair and balanced"...

Attack on Google

Image
Google vs. facebook  the government. You've probably heard of facebook's attempted smear campaign against google.  You probably haven't heard that the U.S. government is fining google for $500,000,000 . The U.S. government (which thinks the internet is a series of tubes ) outlawed foreign pharmaceuticals in an attempt to block sick people in the U.S. from getting cheaper drugs "for our protection."  Google advertised those prescriptions, so the government is fining them. I got your money right here.  Oh. Wait.  Maybe it's in my other pocket. (Edited by Double Birds) This is another example of government passing illegitimate laws to "protect us" from ourselves, and then using those law to rob a legitimate business. Want to get the economy up and running?  Here's a hint, jacka**es: stop hurting businesses.

The 4th Amendment is Toast

Image
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."   — 4th Amendment of the Constitution The court of supreme jerks ruled that cops can knock down your door "if they smell burning marijuana, knock loudly, announce themselves and hear what they think is the sound of evidence being destroyed." The court made this ruling after cops chased down a drug dealer and broke into the wrong apartment  (from the  nytimes ). "You have the right to remain silent and suck my balls." -Samuel A. Alito Jr. (Edited by Double Birds) A monopoly in anything creates an inferior product at a higher cost, while a free market accomplishes the opposite.  For example, a competitive market in computers ...
